Cereal Box Quotes - Week 1

Hello to y'all out there! I was recently pondering on something to do for the blog when I came up with an idea! I call it; Cereal Box Quotes. Now you may be wondering, what's that? Fear not, for I will tell you. Sometimes on a cereal box, there's some kind of inspirational quote on it for you to read while munching on -insert-favorite-cereal-here-. So what does that have to do with random quotes? EVERYTHING OF COURSE! ... okay maybe not everything but you get the point. Every week from now on, we will have a cereal box quote up to maybe motivate you, inspire you, or just for you to read, and the fun part is... (drumroll please)... You can contribute quotes as well! (They don't have to be found on a cereal box, we're just calling them Cereal Box Quotes) You could come up with one, or find one by someone else! If you have a quote you would like to share, you can submit it here

And so, without further adieu, The first cereal box quote!

"There's life all around us, we just need to know where to look." -Yours Truly.

Finding Awe: Books, Letters, and Words

Letters. Symbols with meaning. How could something so seemingly insignificant, such as ink on paper, or letters inside of a box of text, be such a big part of our life?

The written english language can be a seemingly impossible to read cipher, depending on what languages you know. Yet knowing the language unlocks the vast information and emotion found in the words. Books can contain emotions and beauty, without you physically needing to see anything but letters on pages. Whole worlds can be created in our minds with the power of words. And to think that we tend overlook these symbols which are so vital is surprising. Words, letters, and books are amazing things filled with the power to change the world.

Finding Awe: Music

Music is something that's always been a part of my life. There doesn't need to be a scientific study to show how awesome it can be.

It's incredible how different songs and compositions can make you feel different emotions. How vibrations in air can beautifully compose a melody that is pleasing to the ears. Music can help in ways unimaginable. I remember one day I wasn't feeling it. I just wasn't happy that day, and I was a bit sad. I was texting my friend when he shared a song with me. He didn't know how I was feeling or what I was doing, but it was a song I needed to hear. It helped me calm down and feel a bit better. It's miraculous how music can change the mood of anything. Music is amazing, and I believe it truly inspires awe.

Introducing: Caynne

Hi! I'm Caynne (pronounced just like the cayenne pepper). I'm from Kuwait, and I'm excited to be on the blog team! This is the view from my bedroom window, and there are 3 things in this picture that can describe a little bit of Kuwait. First is how flat Kuwait is. It is literally so flat that you could see buildings miles away. Second is, there are Mosques everywhere! There's one in almost every corner. Lastly, and probably the most obvious one is, not only are Mosques everywhere but there are sands everywhere! That's just a bit of Kuwait and I can't wait to show you guys the rest!

Looking At The World In Awe

A study was shown that by taking some teens rafting, who had symptoms of depression, awe could help diminish those symptoms.

"[A] Sense of awe. Science is all about discovery and learning. Having a sense of awe and wonder at the amazing things biology has to offer helps us appreciate God and the amazing things that are things bigger than us," -Jason Lloyd. Awe and wonder is something we all take for granted. the definition of awe isa feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder.

Awe can be found from most anything, even moths can be awe-inspiring. A close up of a moth wing can show the true beauty that we can experience if we look close enough. Take for instance these rocks:

They look average and normal, not much more special then the ones laying on the ground you walk on. they don't seem too awe-inspiring, do they? But when you flip them around it's a whole different story.

The inside of these are truly beautiful, wonderus, and awe inspiring. Though the exterior of these geodes may make it seem like they're normal, ugly, or just plain, the inside is magnificent and beautifully awe-inspiring.

Some benefits of awe:

  • Motivation to acquire new knowledge
  • Motivation to serve
  • Momentary boost in satisfaction
  • Reduce of aggressive driving
  • Reduction of symptoms of depression and anxiety

Now I have a challenge for you. This week, find something awe-inspiring. Find something awesome, find something to be amazed about, and write about it. Find something that makes you wonderstruck, Use clairvoyance, to see the beauty and awe-inspiring things of the world.
